Acupuncture

What To Expect During My Acupuncture Treatment?

On initial visit, you will be asked detailed questions regarding to your health history. After reviewing your history, the acupuncturist will diagnose your condition and decide the treatment plan. Generally the first visit will take about an hour, and the subsequent visit will last around 45 minutes.

The treatment include acupuncture with possible addition of some other modalities such as Electro-acupuncture, Cupping (cups are placed on the skin to create suction), ear seeds, Gua Sha (skin scraping to produce light bruising), etc.

How Frequently Should I Come For Treatment?

This really depends on the individual with their own conditions. The more and longer chronic problems you have, the longer time your body needs to adjust. On the other hand, acupuncture works quickly for acute conditions. In general, the practitioner will tell you to visit once or twice a week for at least 5-7 weeks.

Is Acupuncture Covered By Health Insurance?
